family session

Trying to get a big family or an extended family together can be tough. Trying to decide what everyone should wear can be even more difficult. This family, even though some family members lived across the country, was able to get together for a photo shoot at my favorite park. We shot the entire group, siblings, small family groups and some individual shots.

In choosing colors to wear to a photo shoot, it's a great idea to choose one or two colors for everyone to wear. The color scheme can be monochromatic (shades of the same color), analogous (colors beside each other on the color wheel), complementary (colors opposite each other on the color wheel), or the clothing style and colors can follow a theme. When you choose your colors, try to find colors that each peson already has in his/her closet if possible. Simple clothing styles are best. Layers work well in fall or winter shoots.

Navy blue and aqua shirts with jeans worked well for this family shoot.
