so cute!

don't they look cute together?
we took some photos of these two at the end of our family photo shoot last month.
i finally got ONE edited and just had to post it.

baby boy

is it terrible of me to admit that i bought pumpkins this year more to use with cute little babies
in a photo shoot than for my own children to carve?
here's one photo shoot i used them in--the pumpkins were great props and were great to support this adorable baby boy, who couldn't quite sit up on his own yet.

we used the dad's missionary suitcase and one of his ties for these two photos.

you can't really tell, but in this photo, baby boy is clear and sharp while mom and dad are slightly out of focus

i've been waiting to use this hat on a boy. most of the boys i've shot lately were too big for it.
i found it months ago at my favorite thrift store.
while i don't need kids/babies to look directly at the camera for every frame; it is one of the biggest challenges in photographing kids, getting them to look at the camera at least some of the time (not at mom or dad!)

baby boy

i found these great fake apples, loved them and bought them, not even knowing
what i wanted to do with them. combined with real apples,
they were a great prop for this baby boy.

six or seven months is a great age--babies can sit up but can't yet crawl away!

this is his own sock monkey.

love this shot with mom looking at dad.

family shoot

i love photographing this family! they are so fun!
the boys wanted to do a family pyramid. the mom was a good sport to do this, in a dress!

the cement wall is still my favorite location!

two year old photo shoot

these are photos of my photography partner/sister-in-law's granddaughters (my great nieces). it was my attempt at a two-year-old photo shoot. they were very cooperative for about 5-10 minutes, but my trampoline was a big temptation, and they couldn't wait to go out and jump.
i loved these shots and have more, which i will post later (after they're edited)!

two favorite subjects

two of my favorite subjects! these photos were part of a bigger photo shoot, but i loved these. when they're older, it will be fun to put together a collage of all the photo sessions we've done over the years

family photos

what a wonderful family! beautiful weather (good weather's a big deal in Oregon in the fall) and a cooperative family made for a fun photo shoot.
it took the three year old some time to warm up, but he was so great once he did.
here is my favorite shot of the day and it was one of those serendipitous moments.
we were moving to another location in the park and i was behind dad and the kids.
this was so sweet, that i couldn't resist snapping off a shot.

if you could just see the photographer in this shot, you would laugh. i'm trying to adjust my lens, hold up a reflector to block the blazing sun, take the photos one-handed, and get everyone to look in the direction of the camera! it was a workout! usually i have an assistant, but of course, this was one time that i didn't!

love those missing front teeth!

he's all warmed up and ready to smile for a photo
