wedding day

this was the first wedding of one of my "kids". the bride is my daughter's best friend. the bride and groom were great and the backlighting during the ceremony was beautiful.
you can't tell that it was in the high 80's and we were all sweaty hot! i'm posting a lot of photos, so be prepared (not even a tenth of what we shot though--think about weeding out/editing that many!)
this is when the groom first saw the bride. we probably made him nervous because we told him to overemphasize his reactions!

loved the balloons (the bride's idea)

a different way to show off the rings

reception time!
the bride's dad changed into jeans and these tennies right after the wedding ceremony!

some of the candids from the day...

a few of the details...
here are the girls getting ready. i loved this one of the girls all lined up at the mirror
and the one of the bride with her mom in the background

what a fun day!

smile, smile, smile

this photo shoot, of a family i have photographed before, was such a happy one for me. the mom brought her sister who we kept calling a "child whisperer" because she was able to get the kids to smile (even the one who we haven't successfully got to smile before). i loved the clothing colors and the ingeniousness of the mom for finding matching ones (there's a story behind the clothes). while i was editing the shoot, i couldn't help but smile at my favorite images.
this was such a funny expression, i had to include it. sorry boys!

baby girl

this baby girl we photographed the week of her real due date. she was born quite early. she has been doing wonderfully well. by the time of this photo session she was up to a typical birth weight. i was so glad i got to take her picture!
she looks like such an old soul here. her mom said that she is usually very happy and smiley; we could not coax a smile out of her the whole session!

the foot shot; they are a lot harder to capture then you might think.
and here she is with one of her older siblings.
