If it's fall in Oregon, it's soccer season in the Knowles home. With Taggart on his mission and Tayler at BYU, and Taryn not interested in high school sports, it's Tanner's turn to carry on the soccer tradition. Gone are the days of three games on the same day (and usually at the same time) and so our soccer season doesn't seem so hectic. Tanner and his friend, Jason, are on the same team and they have the best coach. Their coach is the uncle of one of the boys on the team and he is teaching them solid fundamental skills in this very patient way. This year the teams have 8 players with 6 on the field at a time. Tanner is great at defender and also at midfielder. He's not afraid to get right in there and challenge the other team. At last Saturday's game, he went up against an opponent who was at least a foot taller and outweighed him by 50 pounds!
Tanner's so proud of this photo. He loved stopping the ball with his body!
