as a surprise for their mom, these kids scheduled a photo shoot. we did a mini shoot in my backyard and chose their two favorites to order and give to their mom for her birthday.
Happy 17th Birthday Taryn! I'm posting these photos of my daughter, Taryn, on her 17th birthday. We took them several weeks ago to document her new look--"real" glasses (she actually needs them this time) and a new haircut (six inches cut off). I love the neon photo effect that she created when she was editing her photos. While I don't know if these are the photos she likes, these are a few of my favorites (I can't help but throw at least one goofy face in!). We had the most fun at the end of the shoot (there was almost no light left) catching her, and then Tanner, jumping off Grandma's deck. This is my favorite one.
It's inevitable--the minute I set up my backdrop for a client, my kids want in on the action. The day that Sadie and Mikayla came over, Taryn, Jason and Missy also wanted some photos taken. Here are just a few from that brief photo shoot. Usually "my" kids are the ones that I use to set light levels and adjust the backdrop or seating. Because they're always around, I don't take many portraits of them. So it's kind of fun to to pose for their own mini photo shoot!
This photo shoot of a friend of a friend was SO much fun! First, her outfit just blended right in with my new brown backdrop. Normally she wears glasses, but because she had so much glare on them (no matter how we adjusted) she just took them off. She seemed so comfortable in front of the camera. These photos aren't even all of my favorites!
While I didn't take these photos, I love them! I love when a photo can capture a moment or a bit of someone's personality. These photos show my daughter Tayler's unique style. She and her friends sewed matching tulle skirts and then color-coordinated their shirts and shoes. Clothing is one way that Tay expresses her exuberant personality.
