My youngest son is in the band at his middle school. Each year, the advanced band, choir & orchestra perform concerts for five elementary schools to stimulate interest in the music programs. I enjoy chaperoning these concerts and like the challenge of shooting in a variety of space & light scenarios. Here is just a sample from the concerts.

blessing day!
Blessing Day for Ellie & Dan's twins (my nieces)!
Wardrobe was an important concern for this special day. My mom found some chiffon dresses packed away that she thought my sisters and I had worn and brought them to Utah to use as blessing dresses. Chelsy, a cousin to the twins, made the beautiful flowered headbands, and my sister, Darcy, made adorable felt shoes. Ellie made little slips to fit under the dresses.
Of course, photos came when they were all dressed in their finery!
Bella (Isabella) slept through all the photos, but Amy (Amelia) was wide-eyed.
Proud papa
Happy mama
Taryn, the twins' nanny (and my daughter) helps dress Bella.
Darcy putting on the adorable felt shoes she made. The shoes wouldn't stay on so we duct-taped them to their tights!
Family and friends came to share the day.

one-year-old birthday celebration
Family and friends gathered for this little boy's first birthday party at a local pizza restaurant.
I had photographed this boy's mom several years ago,
and she asked me to be the "official" photographer at the party.
It was a celebration with plenty of food, presents and birthday cake, and of course, photos!

a graduation and a wedding
We traveled to Utah this summer for the graduation of my son-in-law and the wedding of my niece. To add to the "hecticness" of our trip--they were both on the same day within hours of each other! We made it to both and enjoyed our day with family.
At my niece's wedding, there were 3 photographers (all relatives--mother of the bride & 2 aunts) plus a videographer; there were plenty of people capturing the memorable event! It was a beautiful day. Here are a some pictures I took of the day...
The Bride & Groom
The reception was held in the beautiful backyard of a friend of the bride's family.
Great weather--not too hot--a only a short shower in the middle of the evening
(but who worries it will rain in Utah in August?)
