love these family photos

i loved taking this family's pictures! so glad that they asked me to be their photographer. i liked their color choices too.

we also took individual shots of the boys.

this was their daughter's first professional portraits. at eighteen months she was very poised and patient with the whole process including clothing changes (although she was not fond of any hat or headband!).

here she is with her favorite blanket.

a milestone event

this couple wanted a portrait for their 50th wedding celebration. it was so much fun to hear them talk about a little about how they met and their wedding. it was a very fun shoot.

 the only pose request from the husband was of him kissing his wife!

between the raindrops

late fall in oregon is usually dark and rainy. some days there is almost no natural light to be found--indoors or out. so if there is even a little bit of clearing, you try to shoot outdoors. for this beautiful senior's session we literally had to shoot between the raindrops. it was fairly clear at first, but along came a light drizzle. we were armed with umbrellas and shot around the sprinkles as much as possible. the heavier rain called a halt to the shoot but we were able to get some lovely images. 

this was the only tree in the park that still had its lovely red leaves.

freezing photo shoot

it was so cold on the day of this photo shoot. but this family were troopers and were willing to do an outside shoot. you can't even tell that they were freezing! they were so great to work with.

a birthday surprise

as a surprise for their mom, these kids scheduled a photo shoot. we did a mini shoot in my backyard and chose their two favorites to order and give to their mom for her birthday. 

outdoor family session

shot this family last year indoors. so glad we got to go to the park for this session.
