vintage baby

Kyli and her beautiful baby girl were in town to visit Kyli's mom, and they were able to squeeze in a photo shoot. They brought the most beautiful vintage clothes (I LOVE the lace leggings!) and we added Taryn's pearl necklace. She was so cooperative and looked simply beautiful. We processed many of these in sepia tones to complete the vintage effect. I had so many favorites, it was hard to choose (and I still chose too many)!

static hair

While not my best photos, these are just too funny not to post! Whenever these two girls are at my house, they love to go jump on the trampoline; usually they insist I come and take their picture. This day, they came running into the house imploring me to take their picture because they had figured out a way to make their hair full of static! Their hair is funny and their expressions are priceless!

oops! i did it again

This baby and her family were part of a photo shoot at  Kathi's house (my sister-in-law and photography partner). I loaded up all my photo stuff--backdrop stands, backdrops, props, reflector--all ready for a photo session. I get all the way over to Beaverton and discovered that I had left my fully-loaded and ready-to-go camera case at home on the dining room table! That's the second time I've done that for a shoot at Kathi's! Nonetheless, we took some fun photos of this adorable newborn and her family.

scavenger hunt

This photo session was part of a scavenger hunt for a visiting friend. I'm glad I had the chance to be part of the fun! And I got to use my newest props--a heart plate and heart pillow!

team photos

This year I was able to take the team and individual photos for my son's soccer team. We didn't think we would be able to get a team photo because either it was raining or one of the boys was absent. But finally, on the last game we had every there and there was a break in the rain! My newest editing skill is being able to change heads from one photo to another. Can you tell which player's head I switched?

more family portraits

For this family's portraits, we split the session into two separate days--individual shots of the kids one day and family photos on another day. It seemed to work well that way. It was so COLD the day we took the family portraits. They were all real troopers to brave the chill!

senior portrait

This was my last senior portrait of the year. It was mid November and we were in a stretch of really gray days. I was worried that we wouldn't have enough light (can you tell I really don't want to use flash?) and rushed them to my favorite park when they arrived at my house. Even with gray rains coming in, we were able to capture a lot of great images. She was such a trooper!

sisters

We took photos of big sister when she was a baby and now my sister-in-law, Kathi, and I got to have another photo session with big sister and the newest addition.

this boy is growing up!

It's been so fun to see this adorable boy change this past year. Each time we meet he's changed or learned a new skill. The year has gone so fast (at least for me!).
Some of our favorite photos of kids are not when they're smiling. I've been waiting and waiting to use this wooden rocking horse in a photo. I was happy that I could pull it out of the garage and use it!

family portrait

This cute family came to me on the recommendation of a friend. They were just great!
